Responsibilities

The Amityville Village Justice Court has jurisdiction over all Misdemeanor Criminal, Vehicle and Traffic law, and Village Ordinance violations that take place within the village. Criminal matters are prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney. Village ordinance matters are prosecuted by the Village Prosecutor. The court is responsible for conducting hearings, trials, and arraignments and issues warrants and Orders of Protection, including acting as Family Court when the Family Court is closed. The Court has a Chief Justice and an Associate Justice, along with a Chief and Associate Clerk and a staff of court officers. The clerk's office is open five days a week during normal business hours and court is held on Tuesday nights.

  • 1st Tuesday of the Month at 5:30 pm - Village Ordinance, Vehicle and Traffic, and Penal Law violations (including parking summonses)
  • 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of the Month at 6 pm - Vehicle and Traffic, and Penal Law violations

Summons Payments

For your convenience, the Village Justice Court accepts online payments of all parking tickets, pre-conviction and post-conviction fees and fines due to the Court. Please be advised that credit card payments are subject to a service fee (displayed at the time of payment), which neither the Court nor the municipality receives any portion of. 

If you have outstanding parking and/or (pre-conviction) summons returnable before the Amityville Village Justice Court, you may be able to pay this fine by credit card. Please contact the Court at 631-691-3303, Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm, to determine if your summons can be paid online with a credit card.

Payments may continue to be made by cash, certified bank funds, or money order without the additional service fee. However, if partial payment is made online, it is the responsibility of the defendant to contact the Amityville Village Justice Court for their next payment date.
