Trustee Owen E. Brooks, Jr. joined the Board of Trustees in 2020 and is chair of the Beach Committee and Liaison to the Village Justice Court. A lifelong resident of Amityville and graduate of Amityville Memorial High School and Westminster College (PA), Trustee Owen E. Brooks, Jr. retired recently from a 31-year career as an executive with Pfizer Inc, New York, NY, where he served as Director, Global Capital, Facilities, and Supplies Procurement. During his career, Trustee Brooks has earned several professional achievements and accolades including Institute of Supply Management certifications including CPM and CPSM and is winner of the Pfizer Audrey Berry Award for leading Pfizer fund raiser, United Way New York.
His civic involvement includes membership in the Bay Village Civic Association and he is an active participant in the annual Save the Great South Bay clean up, as well as other local activities and fundraisers. An avid boater with a keen interest in Amityville’s nautical history, he is Past Commodore of Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. Trustee Brooks is also a past Junior Achievement volunteer, elementary education, New York City Schools and has volunteered for 15-years within his church on consistory boards and Sunday School education.
He is married to Margaret, an Amityville teacher, and has four grown children Owen III (Jamie), Will (Alana), Robert and Meghan (Nicholas) as well as one grandson.
