Dennis Siry has been an Amityville resident since 1970 when he moved from Bellerose, New York. He is a graduate of Amityville High School and has been a New York City firefighter for more than 28 years. He is currently a Lieutenant, as of the last five years, in the Specialized Marine Operations of the FDNY.
Dennis was elected Trustee in 2011 and currently serves as a Board member of the Suffolk County Village Officials Association (SCVOA). He served as a Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals from 1998 - 2011. From 2005 - 2011, Dennis served as Chairman of the Zoning Board. Since 1997 he has coached soccer, CYO basketball and Little League baseball and has served as President of the Amityville Soccer League from 2005 - 2011. Mr. Siry was a member of the Amityville Code Revision Committee from 2009 - 2010. He remains active as a community volunteer and is a member of the Amityville Lions Club.
Dennis is married, 34 years, to Nancy Mae (Kretz) Siry who is also a graduate of Amityville High School. They have three children, Bonnie who is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and has obtained her Master's Degree at the University of Colorado in Denver and is employed as a research specialist in the healthcare field. Kelly is a graduate of Amityville High School and SUNY Plattsburgh, where she played soccer and ran track. Kelly earned her Masters' Degree in Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University and is employed at an engineering firm in Boston. His youngest son Dennis is a graduate of Amityville HighSchool and resides in Buffalo where he works in the construction field.
