Kevin P. Smith, Deputy Mayor, was elected to office in March 2013 and reelected in 2017. Prior to this he served as an appointed member to the Village's Planning Board for 6 years. He has been a member of the Amityville Volunteer Fire Department for over 36 years having served the Village as a volunteer firefighter with eight of those years as the Department's Assistant Chief and Chief.
Kevin owns and operates a successful small business in the Village since 1988. He is currently a part-time employee with the Town of Babylon serving as a Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer and is a former Village Department of Public Works employee and CSEA union representative.
The Smith family has spanned four generations in Amityville. Kevin attended school in Amityville, graduated from St. John the Baptist High School, and attended C. W Post College. He resides in Amityville with his wife, Elizabeth.
Kevin P. Smith is a member of the New York State Fire Chiefs Association, Suffolk County Village Officials Association, New York Conference of Mayors, Kiwanis of Amityville, and Bay Village Civic Association.
