Joseph C. Slack, Trustee
Husband to Marjorie (50 years), and father to Wayne, Glenn, Brett, Luke, Pam, Joseph, and Jodi. Joe and Marjorie are also happy grandparents to eight grandchildren. The Slacks have lived on Oak Street in Amityville since 1963.
In 1997 he was elected to the Village Board as a Trustee. He is currently serving as liaison to the Public Works Committee, was Chair of the Code Enforcement Committee and Public Safety Committee. He is also the liaison to the Senior Citizens Commission.
Joe is a Bay Constable, Tree Surgeon, Wildlife Trapper, and Exterminator. In addition Joe was a Reporter for the Amityville Record and Babylon Beacon where he wrote articles about fishing and hunting.
Joe's philosophy as a Village official is to have open and honest communication with the Village residents and Village employees.
Other involvements include: Lifetime member of the Amityville Fire Department, former Amityville School Board Trustee, NYDEC Hunter and Safety Instruction, Hunting Guide, Boy Scouts of America as Merit Badge Counselor, Member Board of Directors of Sunrise Fish and Game Association Amityville and a member of F & A Masons.
