Edward C. Johnson, Trustee

Ed Johnson was born and raised in the Village of Amityville.   He is a graduate of St. Martin of Tours School, Amityville, St. John the Baptist High School, West Islip and SUNY @ Cobleskill where he graduated with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture.  Ed Johnson is owner of Johnson's Florist Inc. in Amityville, which he established in 1980.  His father and grandfather were also in business in Amityville, operating Johnson's Meat Market from 1918 to 1977.

Ed was elected Trustee in 1997.  He served as Deputy Mayor for 4 years, has chaired Recreation Committe, Administrative Committee, Judiciary Committee and co-chaired the Fire Protection Committee and is also the liaison to the Amityville School Board and the Historial Society.  He is also very active in many local community groups.  He is Distinguished Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Amityville 1984-1985, and is serving his second term as President for the 2003-2004 year.  He is a member of the Amityville Chamber of Commerce, The Amityville Historical Society, past officer of the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club and a member of the Amityville Club and St. Martin of Tours Church.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Long Island Retail Florist Association.

In his spare time, he enjoys quality time with his wife, Patricia Breen Johnson, who is a 4th generation Amityville resident.  They married in 1977 and are the proud parents of Colleen, a student at SUNY Cortland, and Scott, a student of St. John the Baptist High School.  They enjoy boating together during the summer and skiing during the winter.
